The agency will be asking the accused public servant to join the investigation and record his statement after which it will decide further course of action.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation against an official earlier posted with Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) (Navy) for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 83.55 lakh.

A written complaint dated 21.01.2025 had been received and verification of the said complaint disclosed that S.C. Jha, then Account Officer (AO), PCDA (Navy), Mumbai, as a public servant, has intentionally enriched himself illicitly during the period of his office that is period from 01.04.2008 to 06.03.2023 and is in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 83.55 lakh which is 58.45% of his known source of income. 

The verification of complaint has disclosed the commission of offence on charges of criminal misconduct by public servant and intentionally enriches himself illicitly during the period of his office, punishable under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act by S.C. Jha, the then AO, PCDA (Navy), Mumbai and unknown others.

The agency will be asking the accused public servant to join the investigation and record his statement after which it will decide further course of action. The bank account details of the accused is also under investigation by the CBI. The CBI has registered an offence against Jha on January 29.
