Mumbai: CBI Files 2 Disproportionate Assets Cases Against Assistant Drugs Controller Office Staffer, SEEPZ Official

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered two separate cases of disproportionate assets against an official working at Office of Assistant Drugs Controller and an Assistant Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, SEZ, Andheri.

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered two separate cases of disproportionate assets against an official working at Office of Assistant Drugs Controller and an Assistant Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, SEZ, Andheri.

According to the CBI, verification of a complaint received by them revealed that of N.N Sabbani working as Computor at Office of Assistant Drugs Controller (1), Ballard Pier, Mumbai, has intentionally enriched himself illicitly during the period of his office from 01.01.2012 to 02.04.2024 and a relative of his had abetted the illicit enrichment.

The CBI sources said that Sabbani is in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 1.08 crore (120.41 %) of his known source of income, which he could not satisfactorily account for.

In another case, the CBI sources said that an Assistant Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, SEZ, Andheri, Mumbai, had intentionally enriched herself illicitly during the period of her office from 01.11.2023 to 18.12.2024 and that she is in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 41.46 lakh (140.64%) of her known source of income, which she could not satisfactorily account for.

The CBI has registered cases under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and are probing further.
