Mumbai: Tensions ran high at Kohinoor International School in Kurla after the institution received a bomb threat via email, prompting swift police action and a full-scale search of the premises. Fortunately, no explosives were found, but the investigation into the threatening message is ongoing.

Email claimed bombs with PETN were planted inside school; threatened mass violence

According to officials from the Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police Station, the anonymous email, sent to the school's official ID, on July 22 at 12:59 PM, was only noticed by the school principal around 9:30 AM on July 23. It contained explicit threats of mass violence, claiming that multiple bombs containing PETN, a powerful explosive, had been planted in the building.

Message said: ‘You all will die… your children must die’; police launch full investigation

The message declared intentions to carry out a "bloodbath" and included chilling statements such as, “You all will die. Your children must die. You are not worthy of living a happy life.”

Groups named ‘Roadkill’ and ‘Silence’ claimed responsibility in mail; cyber team tracing origin

The anonymous sender further warned that the threat extended beyond this one school, stating that “every school in India” was a target. The email ended with the names of alleged groups — "Roadkill" and "Silence" — taking responsibility for the supposed act.

Upon discovering the threatening message, the school authorities immediately alerted the police. Following the alert, a team from the Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), arrived at the school and conducted a meticulous search. However, no suspicious objects or materials were found during the search.

An FIR has been registered against unknown persons, and police have launched a detailed investigation under relevant sections related to criminal intimidation and public safety threats. Cybercrime experts are now working alongside investigators to trace the origin of the email.
