When will the BMC get its act together? Ever since the FPJ reported about illegal food stalls on the pavement at J Tata Road in Churchgate on December 25 a see saw battle has been going on between the hawkers and the BMC's `A' ward staff.

Soon after the FPJ report the civic body swung into action and removed 50% of the hawkers leaving the rest untouched for no apparent reason.

Now even though the number of stalls is less, the vendors are now doing brisk business on J Tata Road itself making a mockery of the BMC.

The pavement has been dug up for laying electric cable for the BEST, but even that has not prevented the food vendors from stopping their business. They have simply relocated their stalls to the road.

In any case, the inconvenience posed by them to thousands of commuters going and coming out of Churchgate station remains as before. When will the BMC take its job seriously? This is the question being asked by the commuters.
