While Congress took to the streets to air its resentment against the Narendra Modi government at the centre, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders tweeted important people-friendly decisions it took.

Chandrakant Patil, state BJP chief, was at his hometown Kolhapur, where he felicitated COVID-19 warriors and later spoke with the media. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis thanked the PM, saying, “We thank Modi from the bottom of our hearts for leading our nation in such difficult times, with strong dedication and firm commitment and showing the world the journey of making a new India.”

Fadnavis also tweeted some of the people-friendly decisions made by the central government, such as Pradhan Mantri Jana Aarogya Yajana, 14 meetings of the PM with chief ministers for overall coordination on COVID-19 management, PM addressing the nation 10 times on the pandemic and a group of ministers (GoM) specially set up for COVID-19 management having 24 meetings. Besides this, he tweeted that the Health Ministry had conducted 97 review meetings with states.

Furthermore, Fadnavis highlighted efforts taken to strengthen healthcare in India, how the availability of beds was ensured and the direct benefit transfer (DBT) Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana eased people’s lives during the pandemic.
