Mumbai: In a tragic incident at Antop Hill, a speeding BEST bus fatally struck 60-year-old Dukhilal Saroj while he was pushing a handcart. The Antop Hill Police have registered a case against the bus driver, Nagesh Sambhaji Rane (30), and issued him a notice for questioning.
According to police reports, the accident occurred on March 23 at around 4:40 PM. Saroj was transporting bananas on his handcart toward Antop Hill when the negligently driven bus hit him at high speed. The impact was so severe that Saroj was thrown a considerable distance, sustaining multiple critical injuries. He died on the spot due to the severity of his wounds.
The incident was reported by Constable Viraj Tanaji Sathe, based on whose complaint the police filed the case. An investigation into the fatal accident is currently underway.
