Mumbai: In a tragic incident early Monday morning, two young men lost their lives and another was critically injured after their scooter crashed into an electric pole on Gorai-Uttan Road in Mumbai’s western suburbs. The fatal accident occurred near Kumar Residency around June 30 and police believe the victims may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

The deceased have been identified as Dinesh Tewar (25), a resident of Sion Koliwada, and Shivam Shahu (27), from Antop Hill. The third victim, Riyan Chaudhary (27), sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Locals Rush Victims To Bhayandar Hospital

Pedestrians and passersby immediately rushed to help and called for medical assistance. The victims were quickly transported to Tembha Hospital in Bhayandar. While Shahu and Tewar were declared dead on arrival, Chaudhary survived with severe injuries and was later shifted to a better-equipped facility for further treatment.

Initial investigations suggest that the trio may have been intoxicated, as per statements given by police officers familiar with the case. Blood samples from all three victims have been sent for forensic analysis to determine the presence of alcohol or other substances in their system. Further details will be revealed once the blood reports and vehicle inspection are completed.
