Mumbai: 4 houses collapse in Chunabhatti; No casualties reported

While no casualty or injuries was reported from the incident, several lives got saved by a mere stroke of luck.

In a level 1 house collapse, four houses collapsed on Saturday at Chunabhatti due to incessant rain, but no injuries were reported as the houses were closed.

The incident took place at Bantur Bhavan Cementry Road, Near Hindu Smashan Bhumi, Chunabhatti at 12.25 am on Saturday.

According to the fire control room, personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mumbai police arrived at the spot along with ambulances immediately after the incident was reported.

The incident was reported through the citizen’s helpline number (1916).

“As soon as we arrived we started the work of removing the debris and clearing the area. There have been no casualties or injuries to anyone,” said a fire officer.

Recently on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, 19 persons were killed and 14 were injured after one wing of a residential building of Naik Nagar Society, in Kurla collapsed.
