Mumbai: A 29-year-old man, identified as Ashish Virshetty Hatte, died by suicide after hanging himself at his residence in Chunabhatti-Sion, Mhada Colony. The incident took place around 8:30 AM on Monday.

Ashish lived with his family in Shreerang Society within the colony. According to the investigation, he had been suffering from insomnia for some time. Despite taking medication for the condition, there was no improvement, which caused him severe mental stress. Struggling with depression due to his illness, Ashish took the extreme step and was found hanging in his home.

He was rushed to K.J. Somaiya Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Upon receiving the information, the Chunabhatti Police reached the spot to investigate.

The police recorded the statements of Virshetty Hatte’s family, who confirmed there were no suspicions or complaints against anyone in connection with his death. Following the statements, the police registered an ADR and initiated further investigation.
