After a two-day journey, the bus carrying 200 holy Saroops (physical copies) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji arrived in the city from Sri Amritsar Sahib while duly observing the Sikh Maryada (code of conduct) on Sunday.

The bus which reached the Gurdwara Kalgidhar Sabha at the link road in Dahisar (east) at around 10:30 am was received with utmost reverence and religious fervour by members of the Sikh community along with devotees irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. From Dahisar, the holy scriptures proceeded in a Grand Nagar Kirtan- a religious procession that celebrates the Sikh faith and the legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, towards Khalsa College in Matunga via the western express highway.

A collection of hymns and verses written by Sikh gurus, saints and poets, Saroop is a physical miniature copy (9 inches x 11 inches) Sri Guru Granth Sahib- a holy book which is also called Bir in Punjabi. Every Holy Saroop contains 1,430 pages, each referred to as Ang.
