Mumbai: The Mumbai police have arrested two people for killing a 20-year-old man on Wednesday. The accused assaulted the deceased with an iron rib on his head and later stabbed him with a sharp weapon on different parts of his body.

The police said one of the accused was suspicious about the deceased having an affair with his wife and killed him in anger.

According to the police, the incident took place on Wednesday opposite Prasanna clinic, Bhaiya wadi, Kala Chowki. The deceased was identified as Vikas Subhash Pasi, 20. The accused are identified as Chetan Tikone, 30, a cable operator and Akshay Gaikwad 24, an AC mechanic. "Chetan and Akshay had some conversation and found Vikas near the crime spot. After an argument they started assaulting Vikas. They hit him with an iron rib on his head. Later they stabbed him on his chest, stomach and hand and killed him. Chetan allegedly doubted that his wife had an affair with the deceased. So in anger he committed the crime," said a police officer.

The Kala Chowki police have registered a murder case on the compalint of Anand Pasi, 27, brother of Vikas. The case has been registered under section 302 (punishment for murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. "We have arrested both the accused who were produced in court and remanded in police custody till June 21," said Anand Mulay, senior police inspector, Kala-Chowki police station.
