Mumbai: In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old girl died by suicide after jumping from the 23rd floor of a high-rise building in the Oberoi complex in Goregaon, Mumbai. According to police, the girl was suffering from depression.
The girl, a Class 11 student at a reputed college, lived with her family in the 23-storey Oberoi Square building. Her father, a well-known construction professional, was away at work at the time. Her mother and grandparents were present in the house, as reported by Loksatta. On Thursday afternoon, around 3:30 PM, the girl suddenly jumped from the window of her room. She died on the spot. No suicide note was found.

She had been receiving treatment for depression at Ambani Hospital, according to Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Patil of Aarey Police Station. In connection with the incident, a case of accidental death has been registered at the Aarey Police Station.
26-Year-Old Woman Dies By Suicide In Koparkhairane After Failing To Get Job Post-Graduation
In a separate news story of suicide from Navi Mumbai, a 26-year-old woman died by suicide after being unable to secure a job despite having completed her graduation. The tragic incident took place in Sector 5 of Koparkhairane.
The deceased, Ashwini More, was the daughter of Raju More, a Mathadi worker residing in Koparkhairane. Despite severe financial struggles, Raju More made sure his daughter received a proper education. Ashwini, fully aware of her parents' sacrifices, was actively looking for work to help support her family.

However, after months of unsuccessful attempts to find a job, Ashwini reportedly fell into deep depression. Her family stated that she had been struggling with depression for the past six months due to her inability to secure suitable employment. After receiving the alert, a police team arrived at the scene and rushed her to the First Referral Hospital in Vashi. Doctors declared her dead around 8 p.m., according to reports.
