In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl who was riding pillion on a bike with her father lost her life after the two-wheeler skidded and she fell on the road.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the 11-year-old girl was identified as Parwara Kapadia and is a resident of Andheri. Parwara Kapadia, who is a sixth standard student, was returning home with her father after participating in a drawing competition in Colaba. The incident took place on Sunday around 2.45 pm, when Parvara was sitting sideways on the bike which was driven by her father, Farhad Kapadia. Near Bengal Chemicals in Prabhadevi, their bike skidded and Parwara’s father lost control of two-wheeler.
After the bike skidded Parwara fell on the road and sustained severe injuries. The locals rushed Parwara and her father to a nearby hospital but the child was declared brought dead. A senior police officer told the leading daily, “The victim sustained severe injuries to her head. She was the only child of her parents, and they are in a deep shock. The father was wearing a helmet, but the victim was not. She was carrying a bag in her hands.” The police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the matter and are probing the case. Parwara’s body was handed over to her family after the postmortem was conducted.
