Nearly one thousand residents living in the upscale Pali Hill locality are set to get their Covid-19 vaccines, starting Saturday. The Pali Hill Residents' Association (PHRA) which has 75 residential buildings and 23 bungalows affiliated with it has organised a two-day vaccination drive, exclusively for the local residents and their house keeping staffers. According to PHRA, 500 beneficiaries will get their Covishield doses each day. The S.L. Raheja Hospital has been roped in for the drive.

Madhu Poplai, general secretary of the association said that the drive will take place within the premises of the Hill Top building. Each beneficiary will have to pay Rs 1,050 for a dose. "Anyone who has taken their first dose earlier and are due for the final dose will get it during the two-day drive. The rest of the residents will be administered with their first dose," Poplai said.

She also mentioned that after the 60-day gap, the association will arrange another camp for the second dose. "Each resident had to pre-register themselves in an excel sheet that was circulated with time slots. Apart from residents, security guards and in-house staff will also get the dose. The cost will be borne by the societies," she said. The drive will be inaugurated by Aaditya Thackeray , state minister of environment and guardian minister of western suburbs.

Meanwhile, in Cuffe Parade, approximately 450 beneficiaries will get their Covid-19 doses on Saturday. The vaccination drive has been jointly arranged by Old Cuffe Parade Citizen's group and Oval Cooperage Resident's Association. "We are coordinating with the citizen's organisation and private hospitals for setting up vaccination camps. Most of the buildings that we will be covering on Saturday are small residential towers," said Harshita Narwekar, BJP corporator from Cuffe Parade.
