Mumbai: 10 Bangladeshi Nationals, Including 4 Women, Arrested In Joint Police Crackdown

Mumbai: Politics is heating up over the issue of illegal immigrants in the country. While Indians residing illegally in the United States are being deported, the arrests of illegal Bangladeshi nationals in India have also increased.

Acting on intelligence, the RCF, Mankhurd, and Deonar police, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-6) Navnath Dhawale, have taken action against Bangladeshi nationals living in India without valid documents.

In a joint operation conducted by the three police stations, ten illegal immigrants, including four women, have been arrested. The police are currently interrogating them and investigating others who may be linked to them.

According to Deonar Police Station Sub-Inspector and ATC Chief Amol Kale, two Bangladeshi nationals, Tajamul Yunus Kazi, 28, and Hasan Hafiz Sikhdar, 20, have been arrested. Both were working as labourers and had been living in Raigad and Rabale, Navi Mumbai. Similarly, Mankhurd Police Station Sub-Inspector and ATC Chief Mahesh Surve, acting on intelligence inputs, arrested Jhakir Hameed Sheikh, 46, a driver residing in Nalasopara.

Meanwhile, the RCF police arrested seven individuals, including four women. They have been identified as Sohag Ashir Mulla, 26, Jahidul Islam Imul, 26, Noam Afzal Hussain Sheikh, 25, Alameen Sheikh, 23, Suma Jahangir Alam Tutul, 24, Taumina Akhtar Raju, 35, and Salma Muksad Ali, 35.

All the accused have been booked under Sections 3 (prohibit entry of those without a passport) and 6 (entry into India using a forged passport or visa) of the Passport (Entry into India) Act, along with relevant sections of the Foreigners Act. The police are continuing their investigation to track down other individuals who may have helped these illegal immigrants settle in the country.
