Navi Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has announced the winners of its first Lucky Digital Consumer Scheme draw, conducted online on April 7.

The scheme, launched to promote digital electricity bill payments, saw 651 consumers win first prizes, 1,302 win second prizes, and another 1,302 win third prizes. The winners’ list is now available on the MSEDCL’s official website, www.mahadiscom.in.

Under the scheme, one first-prize winner from each sub-division has been awarded a smartphone. Two second-prize winners from each sub-division will also receive smartphones, while two third-prize winners will be gifted smartwatches. The next rounds of the lucky draw are scheduled to take place in May and June 2025.

The Lucky Digital Consumer Scheme is open to all low-tension (LT) electricity consumers who have paid three or more consecutive monthly bills online between January 1 and May 31, 2025. The scheme specifically targets consumers who had not used any digital payment method between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024.

According to MSEDCL, over 70% of the state’s electricity consumers now use digital platforms to pay their bills. To encourage more users to go digital, the utility offers a 0.25% discount on bill amounts paid online. MSEDCL provides multiple digital payment options including net banking, debit/credit cards, UPI, wallets, NACH, NEFT, RTGS, QR code, and others, accessible via its website and mobile app.

Consumers must continue to use digital payment methods for at least three consecutive months before the draw to remain eligible. For full details and updates, customers can visit www.mahadiscom.in.
