The girls were accompanied by a boy whose role in the case remains a mystery. A special police team from Kerala took them into custody and they are being brought back to Kerala after completing all formalities, nearly 35 hours after they went missing.
The police in Malappuram told the media that the girls and the boy would be questioned once they reach Kerala. “Prima facie it looks like they went on a jolly trip,” an officer was quoted in the media. They said they lost their phone on the train. I gave them my phone to contact their friend,” Lucy Prince was quoted on TV channels.
