Mumbai: A mega block will be observed on all three suburban railway lines on Sunday for maintenance work, with the Western Railway conducting a five-hour jumbo block on the fast and slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations from 10.35 am till 3.35 pm, while the Central line will have a mega block on the up fast track between Kalyan and Diva. On the Harbour line there will be a mega block on both fast and slow lines between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Bandra/Chunabhatti.
A jumbo block of five hours will be taken from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm on both up and down slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations for the maintenance of track, signalling and overhead equipment. During the block period, all trains will run on the fast track between these two stations, leading to the cancellation of a few train services.
The mega block on the Central line will be carried out between Kalyan and Diva stations from 11.15 am to 3.45 pm on the up fast line. Trains from Kalyan towards CSMT will be diverted to the slow track during the block period between Kalyan and Thane, with fast and semi-fast trains halting at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations, in addition to their scheduled halts. The additional halts will delay arrival at their destination by 20 minutes.
Harbour line services between CSMT and Vashi, Belapur, Panvel will be cancelled from 11.40 am to 4.10 pm, while those from CSMT to Bandra will remain suspended between 11.10 am to 3.40 pm. However, special local trains will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No 8) during the block period.
