Mumbai: The Vakola police have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly flashing in front of a 19-year-old girl on Friday night. The accused has been arrested and booked under the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to word, act or gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman (section 509).

According to the police, the girl, a 19-year-old college student and a resident of Santacruz (E), had gone for a walk at a garden in her neighbourhood on Friday night. While she was waiting for a friend late at night, she saw the accused, Wahid Ali (29), staring at her, which made her uncomfortable and she moved away. Moments later when she accidentally saw Ali, he flashed her near a car parked outside the garden. Aggravated by this act, the teenager immediately called her friends to the garden, who thrashed Ali and handed him to the police.
