Mumbai: The litigation-ridden housing project of Supreme Construction Developers in Taloja, Panvel, with 12 towers of 1,700 flats, which has remained standstill for the past four years, is likely to be revived.

MahaRERA, in its recent order, has appointed Adv. Shirish Deshpande, Chairman of Mumbai Grahak Panchayat, and Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, President of NAREDCO, as special conciliators to look into multiple litigations among flat buyers, the developer & the landowners.

The conciliators are mandated to hold discussions with all stakeholders and suggest appropriate measures to ensure completion of the 12 towers and amicably secure possession of homes for the buyers without any litigation. Additionally, Mr. Sudhakar Deshmukh, Director of MahaRERA, has been appointed as amicus curiae to assist the two conciliators.

According to a press note issued by Anita Khanolkar, the Panchayat secretary, a similar situation arose with the "DSK Sadaphuli Housing Project” in Talegaon, Pune, which had come to a standstill. At that time, MahaRERA had appointed Adv. Shirish Deshpande and Dr. Hiranandani as special conciliators.

They submitted a blueprint to MahaRERA, following which the homebuyers finally received formal possession of their homes. Thanks to the efforts of this duo the DSK Sadaphuli project was successfully revived. Their experience will undoubtedly prove valuable in steering the Taloja, Panvel, project towards completion, Khanolkar added.
