Mumbai: The water supply in the Diva area within the Thane Municipal Corporation will be halted for eight hours on Friday due to the repair of a leak in the main water pipeline. Therefore, Thane Municipal Corporation officials urged the citizens to store water adequately and use it.
An official from TMC said that the water supply will remain halted for eight hours on Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM. The major pipeline's leakage work will be undertaken.
According to the officials of TMC, in Diva Ward, the main water pipe with a diameter of 500 mm that supplies water from Nilje to Diva (Ward numbers 27 and 28) has developed a significant leakage at the Usarghar railway culvert near the Palava City compound. As a result, the water supply will be under low pressure in the area. Therefore, it is very important to stop the leakage by repairing the main water pipe.
TMC officials said that the water supply-related complaints or issues from Diva, Agashan, Ganesh Nagar, Bedekar Nagar, Mhasoba Nagar, Shantinagar, Mumba Devi Nagar, Sabe Village, and Diva East will be lower once the leakage is repaired.
Following the repairs, the water supply will be at low pressure for the next one to two days. The officials urged the citizens to store water adequately and use it as per their needs and cooperate with the TMC for the work.
