After securing victories in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the BJP has now turned its attention to strategising for the upcoming local body elections. On Sunday, the party held a state-level executive meeting in Shirdi.

During the event, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday claimed that Maharashtra's grand victory of BJP-led Mahayuti has brought the country's politics back on track as it buried the politics of betrayal played by Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray.

Shah alleged that Sharad Pawar was the one who initiated the politics of betrayal. He also reiterated that Uddhav Thackeray had abandoned the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray.

He further remarked that the party had once again exposed those practicing dynastic politics and set an example for Maharashtra. “Even those who were not given tickets united to ensure the Mahayuti’s victory,” he said.

Shah pointed out that the people of Maharashtra have decisively shown that Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena represents Balasaheb Thackeray’s true legacy and that Ajit Pawar’s faction is the real Nationalist Congress Party. He added that the people have strongly endorsed Narendra Modi’s development-focused politics.

The Home Minister heaped praise over the party workers for their work and contribution in the BJP's thumping win. He highlighted that the party has already enrolled 40 lakh members and set a target to increase this to 1.5 crore. Shah urged workers to ensure that every booth has at least 250 members, leaving no booth underserved. He encouraged party workers to work tirelessly over the next month and a half to achieve this goal. “Our aim is clear BJP at the panchayat level, BJP at the tehsil level, BJP in municipal corporations, BJP in Maharashtra, and BJP across the nation,” Shah declared.

This was the BJP’s first executive meeting in Maharashtra after its victory, making it particularly significant. The executive meeting began on Saturday.

Nearly 15,000 party officials from across the state were present for the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Bawankule, Union minister Nitin Gadkari, national general secretary Vinod Tawde, national organisation secretary Shivprakash, national secretary Pankaja Munde, state organisation in-charge Ravindra Chavan, and all BJP ministers.
