The 15-day course concluded on Friday at Satara District Jail. Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Vaishali Kadukar attended the certificate distribution ceremony as the chief guest.

Addressing the women inmates, Dr Kadukar said, “If society wants to move forward, it cannot do so without mutual support. Through this NGO, valuable assistance is being provided in the form of a beauty parlour course, enabling women prisoners to become self-reliant in the future.”

Shamkant Shedge, Superintendent of Satara Prison, said, “The main motto of our Prison Department is reformation and rehabilitation. As per the guidance of our senior officers, we work to discourage every accused individual from repeating crimes and help reintegrate them into society. The goal of this course was to ensure that after release on bail or completion of their sentence, these women can become self-employed. We received a very positive response from the inmates—they did not expect such facilities within the prison.”
