As part of a nationwide initiative by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, the Raigad district administration has launched financial inclusion camps in every gram panchayat between July 1 and September 30. The camps aim to ensure that central and state financial schemes reach underserved citizens across the district.

Overseeing the initiative, District Collector Kishan Jawale has directed officials to ensure effective implementation and widespread awareness at the grassroots level. He urged citizens to take full advantage of the opportunity and participate actively in the camps.

The scheme covers enrollment and benefits under key financial programs, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. "Activities at the camps include opening new bank accounts, registering under various schemes, and completing e-KYC updates for existing account holders. Notably, e-KYC is mandatory every 10 years for continued banking services," Jawale said.

These directives were discussed during a review meeting held at the District Collector's office, chaired by Collector Jawale. Key attendees included CEO Neha Bhosale, Lead Bank Manager Vijay Kulkarni, District Agriculture Officer Vandana Shinde, District Industries Centre GM G.S. Haralya, DRDA Project Director Priyadarshini More, ITDP Pen Project Officer Tejaswini Galande, and representatives from several banks.

Collector Jawale also emphasized the responsibility of banks assigned with targets to conduct the camps, urging them to collaborate with gram panchayats, gram sevaks, and talathis for smooth execution.

The district administration has appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to attend the camps and take advantage of the schemes.
