In a major organisational initiative, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has begun appointing taluka-level party presidents through a first-of-its-kind direct interview process. So far, 83 taluka presidents have been appointed across the state after personal interviews conducted by MPCC President Harshavardhan Sapkal himself.

This move aims to empower hardworking and efficient grassroots workers by giving them key roles in the party structure. The initiative has been widely welcomed by party workers and is seen as a morale booster, bringing renewed energy to Congress cadres across Maharashtra.
