A rigorous three-day disaster management training and rescue workshop was held from May 16 to 18, 2025, at Kolad-Roha in Raigad district, aimed at equipping participants with essential emergency response skills.
Organized by Sahayadri Vanjeev Rakshanarth Samajik Sanstha Raigad (SVRSS) in collaboration with Sunil Tatkare Yuva Prathisthan, the workshop focused on hands-on training across three critical disaster response domains. Total of 218 volunteers participated in the workshop.
The first day was dedicated to firefighting, where trainees were taught to handle fire extinguishers, control different types of fires, and implement safe evacuation procedures in real-time scenarios.

Day two moved into mountaineering rescue techniques, with a focus on high-angle rescue, rope management, and responding to emergencies in hilly terrains.
On the final day, the workshop addressed flood rescue operations. Participants engaged in simulated water rescue drills, including victim retrieval, the use of life-saving gear, and navigating currents, preparing them for real-world flood situations.
