Maharashtra: Minorities Commission Urges State Govt To Fund And Operationalise Training & Research Institute

On Friday, Wasim Burhan, member of the Maharashtra State Minorities Commission, wrote to Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, requesting him to open a separate financial head to set up the institute, its registration, recruitment of staff, and provision of funds.

The Maharashtra State Minorities Commission has the state government to provide funds and staff for the Minority Training and Research Institute. The Commission said that while the institute plans to train and guide youth, women, students and scholars of the minority community, no further action on funds or organisational setup has been taken.

On Friday, Wasim Burhan, member of the Maharashtra State Minorities Commission, wrote to Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, requesting him to open a separate financial head to set up the institute, its registration, recruitment of staff, and provision of funds.

Burhan said that the government has decided to establish the institute for the overall progress of the minority community in the state of Maharashtra. This institute will carry out training, research and guidance for the youth, women, students and scholars of the minority community.

However, to date, no further action has been taken regarding this organisation. A separate financial head has not been opened, said Burhan who added that it is necessary to complete the process quickly and actually launch the institute, so that the minority communities can benefit from this initiative.
