Mumbai: Maharashtra has emerged as the leading state in the country in implementing investment MoUs signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to State Industries and Marathi Language Minister Uday Samant. This year, Maharashtra signed investment MoUs worth ₹15.74 lakh crore at Davos, reflecting its strong pro-industry environment.

Responding to a resolution under Rule 293 in the Legislative Assembly, Minister Samant revealed that over the past three years, 62,000 new entrepreneurs have been established under the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP).

Maharashtra also became the first state in India to publish a White Paper on the industrial sector, aiming for balanced regional industrial development.

To further boost investments, the state has launched District Industrial Councils. This initiative alone has attracted over ₹1.25 lakh crore in investments this year.

The minister highlighted the consistent increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) into the state over the last three years. He also revealed that Reliance Group is in talks with the state to set up an aircraft manufacturing unit. The government has committed to allotting land for the project and is keen on ensuring that the venture is established within Maharashtra.

In a notable achievement, Gadchiroli—once known for its Naxal-affected status—is now transforming into an industrial hub, thanks to a ₹1 lakh crore steel plant investment. Samant added that investment intent letters worth ₹8 lakh crore have been issued so far.

Other major developments include:

. Implementation of the “Madhache Gaav” (Honey Village) scheme.

. Establishment of a PM MITRA Textile Park in Amravati.

. A semiconductor manufacturing unit and a defence cluster being developed in Ratnagiri.

To support this growth, the state is acquiring thousands of acres of land to develop new industrial zones. Minister Samant assured that the state government is fully committed to supporting entrepreneurs and accelerating industrial development across Maharashtra.
