Former minister for health Dr Deepak Sawant  has been awarded a doctoral degree by Shivaji University of Kolhapur for his thesis on the "Socio-political impact of Covid-19 pandemic on Maharashtra."

The thesis covered several issues including effect of the pandemic on the health infrastructure, education and trade. Dr Prakash Pawar was the  guide. 

This is Dr  Sawant’s second PhD. The first one focussed attention of hospital administration with JJ hospital as case study.
