Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has announced the establishment of Chief Minister Assistance Cells in all district collector offices to provide financial aid to underprivileged patients. As a result, citizens will no longer need to visit Mumbai to follow up on applications.

Speaking on the development, Rameshwar Naik, the head of the Chief Minister Assistance Fund, highlighted that this move will make critical information about financial aid readily available at the district level.

Officials said the assistance process is being simplified and transitioned to a paperless system. An advanced online portal is set to replace manual procedures, enabling patients to access funds for expensive treatments without traveling to the secretariat.
