The government has made e-KYC mandatory for ration card holders under the public distribution system. To facilitate this, the deadline was extended until March 31 from February 28, and district authorities have urged all beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process immediately.

To make the process more convenient, an official mobile application has been introduced, allowing beneficiaries to complete e-KYC from their homes. Additionally, fair price shop owners across the district are assisting ration card holders in completing their verification. Authorities have encouraged citizens to take advantage of this facility.

In Raigad district, 30.92% of beneficiaries across 15 talukas have yet to complete their e-KYC. The initial deadline was February 28, but considering the challenges faced by citizens, it was extended until the end of March. Officials have warned that those failing to complete e-KYC may face disruptions in receiving ration supplies.

Many ration card holders previously faced difficulties due to fingerprint authentication failures on the e-PoS (electronic point of sale) machines. To resolve this, authorities have introduced iris scanning as an alternative authentication method. Beneficiaries are now advised to visit their nearest ration shop to complete the e-KYC process at the earliest. District Supply Officer Sarjerao Sonawane has urged all remaining beneficiaries to complete their verification without delay.

To complete e-KYC, beneficiaries need to download two mobile applications- Mera e-KYC and Aadhaar Face RD Service App.

Authorities have emphasized that the March 31 deadline is final, and failure to complete e-KYC may result in ration supply disruptions. Beneficiaries are advised to act swiftly to ensure uninterrupted access to essential food supplies.
