Hours after his photo offering a bouquet to NCP chief Sharad Pawar became viral on social media, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday clarified that it was a fake photo and denied having met Pawar on Tuesday midnight.

‘’A photo with NCP President Sharad Pawar is currently going viral. No such meeting took place. Don’t believe in rumours,’’ said Shinde in his tweet.

Shinde had to clarify as there was a buzz that he preferred Pawar to seek his blessings and support while not going to his former boss and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.

The Chief Minister’s Office further clarified that the photo was old when Shinde had greeted Pawar on his birthday.

"CM yesterday was busy reviewing the rainfall in Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra till 11 pm and later he went to his home. So the news about his meeting with Pawar was fake,’’ it added.
