Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has called for an urgent meeting of a sub-committee formed to look after the welfare schemes of the Maratha community at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai at 1 pm today.

The meeting comes after the Supreme Court rejected the Maratha quota plea.

The Supreme Court earlier dismissed the review plea filed by the then MVA government on the Maratha Quota. The five supreme court judge bench ruled that there was no exceptional circumstances which require government to break the 50% limit to restore quota benefits to the Maratha community.
