Mumbai: The Maharashtra BJP-led government is set to expand its cabinet on December 15, with an official swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 3 PM at the Raj Bhavan in Nagpur.

Approximately 30 new ministers are expected to be inducted. The expansion comes just ahead of the winter session, which will begin on December 16. To accommodate the schedules of MLAs, the cabinet expansion is being held on Sunday instead of Saturday.

Reports suggest that senior leaders from all three parties are pushing for their inclusion in the cabinet. There was initial uncertainty about the date for the swearing-in ceremony, with preparations made for a Saturday event in Mumbai by the Protocol Department. However, a lack of official communication led to the decision to postpone it to Sunday.

Speculation Surrounds The Allocation Of Key Portfolios

Speculation also surrounds the allocation of key portfolios, with sources indicating that crucial departments such as Urban Development, Tourism, and MSRDC will remain under Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s control. However, there is still uncertainty over the Revenue portfolio, keeping leaders on edge as they await final decisions.
