Maharashtra: At least seven people lost their lives, and 15 others sustained serious injuries when a luxury bus plunged into a 200-foot gorge on the Nashik-Gujarat Highway in Maharashtra early Sunday morning. The accident occurred around 5:30 am, and the injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, according to a News18 report quoting officials.

Details Of The Accident

The tragic crash reportedly took place when a bus carrying 48 pilgrims from Maharashtra's Trimbakeshwar, was en route to Dwarka, Gujarat. The pilgrims were from the districts of Guna, Shivpuri, and Ashoknagar in Madhya Pradesh.

As per reports, a group of devotees from these districts had embarked on a religious journey on December 23. They were visiting various pilgrimage sites across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. The pilgrims were travelling in four buses, one of which met with the accident.

5 Nepal Nationals Killed In Bihar Accident

Five Nepalese nationals lost their lives in a tragic accident while returning from Prayagraj after attending the Maha Kumbh. Their speeding SUV crashed into a divider and overturned multiple times on the Madhubani four-lane bypass on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver attempted to avoid a biker performing stunts, leading to the crash. The impact was so severe that the vehicle flipped over five times, leaving it completely mangled.

Nine people were in the car, five died on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Shri Krishna Memorial Medical College (SKMCH). Officials confirmed that the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy.

Details On The Casualties

The vehicle was carrying a total of nine people. Five of them, including the driver, died on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries. The deceased have been identified as Archana Thakur, Indu Devi, Mantarni Devi, Bal Krishna Jha and the driver, as reported by NDTV. The injured victims, Manohar Thakur, Srishti Thakur, Kamni Jha, and Devtaran Devi, have been rushed to Shri Krishna Memorial Medical College (SKMCH) for treatment. Their condition remains critical.
