Mumbai: Residents of Shivaji Park, Mumbai, have complained about a car that is allegedly parked in the area. Discussions have been ongoing for the past few years regarding the dust in the park. The residents have objected to the parking of private vehicles behind the Scout Guide Hall and have warned that if the car is not removed, they will begin parking their own cars in Shivaji Park.

Prakash Belwade a member of the Shivaji Park Residents Association, stated that no vehicles are allowed to park on the grounds. However, when there are weddings or other functions at the Scout Guide Hall, it causes inconvenience to the residents.

The tenancy agreement has been violated in several respects by the Scout Guide Hall operators, yet the municipal administration seems to be ignoring it. Additionally, unauthorized construction is taking place within the building of the Scout Guide Hall.

Belwade further emphasized that if cars for wedding ceremonies continue to be parked on the grounds, the residents will oppose this practice.

Vehicles should only be allowed to park in the area when there is an official event permitted on the grounds, as the court has allocated 45 days for such program on the ground.

He raised the concern that if vehicles are parked at other times, it could lead to a reduction in those 45 days, according to reports by Mumbai Live.

Meanwhile, an incident happened in Mumbai a 34-year-old resident of Worli received a police notice after his car struck and killed a 44-year-old man in the Kalina area of Santacruz on December 12.

Prabodhan Belekar lost control of his vehicle while exiting the basement parking lot of the Insignia building, which is managed by OM Sai Siddhi Company, and hit Banarasilal Shukla, an employee of the Pay and Park Service. The accident happened around 7:45 PM when Belekar’s car exited the parking lot rapidly, colliding with Shukla before crashing into a compound wall.
