Following a good rainfall in the last week, Colony Forum has demanded to lift the water cut in the Kharghar-Taloja area. Members of the forum met the Superintendent Engineer, Water Supply Department of CIDCO at Raigad Bhavan and requested to consider their demand.
CIDCO had announced a 25 percent water cut following poor rainfall and direction from the irrigation department from June 27 in its area. Residents were already getting poor supply for the past couple of months, and the additional water cut added to their woes.
According to senior members of Colony Forum, in the first week of June, the water supply in Kharghar, Taloja, Ulwe, Dronagiri, etc. was increased due to the laying of a new pipeline in the water canal. As a result, the water supply in the Kharghar node was increased by about 25 to 30 MLD and residents were happy.
However, in the last of June, CIDCO imposed a 25 per cent water cut from June 27. Now, with good rainfall. the level of Hetwane dam area has increased. Therefore, residents demand to restore the water supply.
