Thane: The Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday, July 4 arrested two men for making a hoax call on Sunday night stating that a person was carrying bomb in his bag at Ambernath railway station.
Soon after the call, a bomb squad, Ambernath and Badlapur GRP officials reached the spot and checked the platform and the commuters. The technical team tried to trace the location of the caller.
Avinash Andhale, senior police inspector, informed, "Our police teams were checking at the Ambernath railway station from the time of call at around 8:30 pm on Sunday to morning 5 am on Monday. We later arrested the hoax callers. Both the hoax callers work in private companies and they were addicted to alcohol. After partying on Sunday, they made the call. We have arrested them under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 182, ,186, 34, 505 (1B) and 506 (2)."
The hoax callers have been identified as Atul Prajapati (27) and Pradeep Prajapati (28) both are the residents of Kalwa.
