A major encroachment removal drive was carried out in Jogeshwari on Friday, during which a total of 28 soft encroachments were cleared despite significant challenges. The operation proceeded without the presence of the City Police, who failed to turn up despite repeated requests for assistance.
The demolition drive was undertaken to facilitate the ongoing construction of a new Coaching Terminal at Jogeshwari, a crucial infrastructure project aimed at enhancing railway services in the region. A total of 51 personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and eight officers from the Government Railway Police (GRP) were deployed to ensure the smooth execution of the operation.

Authorities emphasized that removing these encroachments was essential to prevent delays in the construction project. However, the lack of support from the City Police posed additional challenges, making the operation more difficult.
Officials have reiterated their commitment to completing the new Coaching Terminal on schedule, ensuring improved railway facilities for commuters.
