Over 100 police officers and hospital staff participated in a yoga session organized by Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, in collaboration with the Art of Living Foundation, on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day. The event, held in line with this year’s global theme — ‘One Earth, One Health’ — aimed to promote preventive healthcare and holistic well-being among frontline workers.

The yoga session was conducted by a certified instructor from the Art of Living Foundation and included structured breathing exercises, postures, and relaxation techniques to energize the body and calm the mind.

The event was graced by police inspector Kishor Salvi, from Vashi Police Station, and Chandrakant Dedhiya, President of Kutch Yuvak Sangh, Navi Mumbai. They were joined by Nitin Kamaria, Facility Director of Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi.

Speaking at the event, PI Salvi emphasized the role of yoga in reducing stress, enhancing focus, and supporting emotional well-being, particularly for demanding professions like police duty. He said, “International Yoga Day is a reminder to incorporate such practices into daily life. We thank Fortis Hiranandani Hospital for this impactful initiative that supports the physical and mental health of frontline workers.”

Kamaria added that proactive healthcare is key to long-term wellness. “We want to encourage healthy living not just for our patients, but for the people who serve our city. Police officers and hospital staff endure physically and mentally demanding conditions. Preventive practices like yoga help in reducing the burden of lifestyle-related ailments,” he said.
