Mumbai : The Lucknow military hospital has won ‘Raksha Mantri Trophy’ for the best service and placed on first position while Mumbai Naval hospital INHS Ashwini came on second position along with the Udhampur command hospital, jointly.

The Defense minister Mr. A K Antony presented the award to the hospital. During the event, Antony praised the sterling performance of armed forces medical service (AFMC) in providing timely relief to the people in the Uttarakhand Floods and cyclone ‘Phalin’ affected people of Odisha.

He said AFMS has also done commendable work during UN humanitarian missions. In this context he particularly highlighted the humanitarian missions run by AFMS in Maldives, Lebanon, Sudan and Afghanistan.

The Raksha Mantri Trophy for best service hospital was instituted in 1989 to identify and acknowledge excellence in patient care and hospital management among Command and equivalent hospitals in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
