A day after Shiv Sena(UBT)'s lone MLA from the Konkan region Bhaskar Jadhav created shockwaves in the Uddhav Thackeray-led party, the veteran leader denied the accusations that his statement was a political stunt aimed at gaining a position. Speculation arose when Jadhav was quoted saying he had not been given the opportunity to work to the best of his ability.
He said, “Over the last 43 years, I have never been given the opportunity to work to my full potential. This is what I meant. I have no objection to any party or leader for not giving me that chance. I went on to say that it’s not just me; it happens to many others too. It’s unfortunate, and I take full responsibility for it,” Jadhav explained.
Jadhav added, “In my 43 years of political life, I have never resorted to theatrics or made a scene to get something. I’ve never played a drama or sat singing sorrowful songs. If something happens, it’s because of my destiny. If it doesn't, so be it. I have never done this to pressure my party or to create a situation to join another faction. I’ve never done such theatrics in my life. Why would I do it now, especially in my later years?”
Jadhav also refuted rumors that he used similar tactics during his previous party’s split to secure positions. He stated, “Some claim I resorted to such stunts to become Leader of the Opposition, but those who know my 43-year political career understand the reality. I’ve never compromised my principles or sought posts. I stand firm on my decisions with clarity and integrity.”
He also defended his reputation, saying, “I have political flaws, which can be debated. But I never lie. I cannot stand when someone else lies. I keep my word, even if it costs me. I do not speak to please anyone; I have the courage to speak the truth.”
Lastly, Jadhav reiterated his commitment to his political career, saying, “I’ve been in politics for 43 years, and now, in the later phase of my career, I am a dedicated worker. During difficult times, I feel the urge to contribute and make a positive difference.”

However, Jadhav’s WhatsApp status sparked curiosity again in the evening. He shared a video of sheep following their leader, captioning it to imply that a strong and trustworthy leader naturally attracts followers, even among animals. He did not specify whom he was referring to.
Meanwhile, former Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut met with UBT office-bearers from Rajapur taluka in Ratnagiri to strengthen the party’s presence in the Konkan region. The meeting took place at Shiv Sena Bhavan in Mumbai, though details remain undisclosed.
