According to official data, a total of 25,925 violators were penalized for offenses such as drunk driving, helmetless riding, signal jumping, and obstructing traffic flow. The total fine collected over the two-day period amounted to a staggering ₹1,79,09,250.
March 13 Crackdown: 8,073 Violators Penalised
On March 13, 8,073 traffic violators were fined, with penalties amounting to ₹87,72,000. The key violations recorded were:
Obstructing Traffic Flow – 3,529 cases
Without Helmet – 1,827 cases
Jumping Signal – 1,411 cases
Without License – 328 cases
No Entry Violation – 811 cases
Triple Seat Riding – 83 cases
Drunk Driving – 17 cases
Honking Violations – 39 cases
Wrong Side Driving – 28 cases
The highest fine collected on this day was ₹41,99,000, imposed on violators obstructing traffic flow.
March 14 Crackdown: Holi Day Sees 9,422 Offenders
On March 14, 9,422 violators were fined, and penalties totaling ₹92,07,250 were collected. The breakdown of offenses includes:
Without Helmet – 3,122 cases
Obstructing Traffic Flow – 1,125 cases
Jumping Signal – 531 cases
Without License – 498 cases
Triple Seat Riding – 342 cases
No Entry Violation – 181 cases
Drunk Driving – 166 cases
Honking Violations – 6 cases
Wrong Side Driving – 5 cases
The highest fine collected on this day was ₹31,16,000, primarily from helmetless riders.
Rising Drunk Driving Cases
A total of 183 cases of drunk driving were recorded over the two days, a significant increase from 126 cases last year.
