Mumbai: Devotees across the city celebrated Hanuman Jayanti with great devotion and enthusiasm on Thursday, offering prayers at temples to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman. Many visuals shared online showed large crowds of devotees visiting temples in different areas, including Dadar and Navi Mumbai.
The auspicious Hindu festival is celebrated every year to honour the birth of Lord Hanuman, who is also known as Anjani Putra. Lord Hanuman is the devoted disciple of Lord Rama and a symbol of strength, courage, and devotion. Visuals showed devotees visiting the Sri Bhakta Aanjaneya Trust Hanuman temple at SIES Nerul.
In Dadar, a 15-foot-tall moving statue of Lord Hanuman was set up near Puratan Vatvriksh Shree Hanuman Mandir specially for the occasion.
Not just just, female sand artist Lakshmi Gaud created a 20-foot-tall sand sculpture of Bajrangbali at a beach in Mumbai to mark the celebration.


The Shree Rokadiya Hanuman Mandir in Kalbadevi was also decorated with flowers on the auspicious occasion.
In addition to this, the Shree Jagannatha Balbhadra Subhadra Trust has announced a grand celebration for Hanuman Jayanti on April 2, 2026, at Ganpati Mandir, Aram Nagar, Versova. The event will feature a 108-time recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa. The programme began at 9:00 am with an explanation of the hymn's deeper meanings, followed by the recitation session from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Not just this, a major procession is expected from the Hanuman Temple in Vakola, which is expected to draw an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 devotees.
