Mumbai: Opposition parties on Monday while alleging corruption charges on various departments of the state government, claimed that the illegal favours of ruling BJP leaders to builders, resulted in loss of revenue to the government to the tune of hundreds of crores.
Jayant Patil, leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in State Assembly listed various cases of favours by state government which helped builders to dupe government by hundreds of crores. He also blamed that a file related to one corruption case in SRA scam was purposefully shown as missing to cover up for the scam.
He has indirectly put a question mark on the government and concerned minister’s motives beyond these favours. Patil gave an example of how Fadnavis government helped Darshan developers. "Darshan Developers donated Rs.7.5 crore to Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016-17, even though the company was facing loss. Darshan developers was appointed as builder for redevelopment of Saidarshan and Sarvadharmiy Society at Andheri by Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA). This company got 2000 crore Loan from DHFL and routed the money through 4 shell companies, " Patil said in the assembly.
He further added, "Even though SRA rules do not permit appointing two developers, Darshan developers involved 4 companies. The deed of assignment was not allowed as SRA rule. But this was allowed here and that too without depositing 5 percent cost of the land that is Rs. 20 crore. Even before the developer was changed for these societies, the mortgage was done in the Darshan Developers name.”
