Mumbai, January 28: In a major relief for commuters in Mumbai, the Maharashtra government led by Devendra Fadnavis has decided not to increase the toll tax on Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu. The decision was taken during the state cabinet meeting which was held on Tuesday, January 28. The toll tax on the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu will remain ₹250 for another year, till December 2025.
This resolution by the state government ensures that commuters travelling on the bridge linking Sewri to Nhava Sheva will maintain the same toll charges for the upcoming 12 months. Notably, the Atal Setu significantly enhances connectivity and reduces travel time within the region.

Atal Setu, which is the longest sea bridge in India, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12, 2024. The bridge connects Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, which is also called its satellite city.
Details About The Bridge
The bridge is a six-lane grade separated express way which is 21.8 kms long. The bridge starts at Sewri and connects Nhava Sheva. Atal Setu is linked to the Mumbai–Pune Expressway in the east and to the Coastal Road in the west.
