Mumbai: On Akshay Tritiya, one of the three-and-a-half auspicious days of Hindu calendar, there was a visible slump in the prices of gold. However, since then, with wedding season round the corner, the prices are steadily on the rise. Now gold prices are Rs 33,000 for 10 grams. Within a week, the prices have gone up by Rs 1,000. The Indian bullion market is impacted because the Rupee has fallen in comparison to the Dollar.
However, gold prices have not stopped Indians from purchasing gold jewellery and the sales continue. People are thronging the traditional gold markets and along with the gold prices, there is a slight rise in silver prices. Silver is now at Rs 40,000 a kilogram.
