The Nationalist Congress Party on Thursday appointed former legislator Vidya Chavan as the president of Maharashtra women’s wing. The announcement was made by the national president of the women’s wing and Rajya Sabha member Faujia Khan. The post was vacant after the incumbent Rupali Chakankar stepped down following her appointment as the Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Women Commission.
After he appointment, Chavan said that her priority will be to raise the inflation which has caused severe hardships to the people especially for women.
