Mumbai: Representatives of the Maharashtra Transporters Action Committee (MTAC), along with heads of various transport associations, met senior traffic police officials on Saturday to discuss difficulties faced by transporters over the e-challan system.
The delegation met Praveen Salunke, Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Sunil Bhardwaj, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), and Jadhav, Inspector of Police (Traffic), Government of Maharashtra.
Representatives of truck, tempo, tanker, bus, trailer, LPG and local and outstation transporters participated in the meeting, seeking solutions to issues related to e-challans.
The transporters had earlier raised concerns over the alleged misuse of the e-challan system, including challans based on static photographs and difficulties in resolving disputed fines.
"We sought greater transparency and technology-based enforcement.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and expressed hope that the issues would be resolved at the earliest, said Raman Khosla, MTAC.
