Mumbai: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, an unidentified drone sighting near Mumbai’s Saki Naka area on Friday morning triggered a high-level security alert. The drone was first spotted near the Hazrat Jayab Jalal (Gaiban Shah Dargah) mosque by a private security guard, prompting an immediate response from Mumbai Police and other security agencies.

According to sources, the drone was seen hovering over slum settlements in the area around 5am. Officials at Sahar Airport promptly alerted the Mumbai Police Control Room about the suspicious aerial activity. Rapid response teams were dispatched to the scene, and the local Saki Naka police initiated a combing operation in and around the area.

Two police sub-inspectors led their teams in the search, focusing primarily on the slum clusters where the drone was last seen. Despite the intense operation, no suspicious objects were recovered from the site.

A local eyewitness reported spotting a drone-like object, but officials later ruled out any immediate threat. Given the proximity of Saki Naka to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the area is considered highly sensitive. The incident prompted a swift joint response from Mumbai Police and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). As of now, no concrete evidence of drone activity has been found, and authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
